Pueblo's newest Visual Arts School, SAGE Art Academy, offers a wide variety of classes, workshops and more for youth of all levels of ability. Our goal is simple - to engage students in the creative process and to GROW ART in Pueblo! We limit class size to ensure that all students receive ample attention!
SAGE Art Academy believes that implementing fine art in your child's life will build overall self confidence and make for a more enriched perspective on life. Whether the student is a "natural" or merely curious, SAGE teaches artistic skills that will be fun and challenging for everyone! There are NO mistakes in art only creations!
Students will experience creating with high grade mediums like watercolors, acrylics, oils, oil pastels, chalk pastels, charcoal and pencils. Mixing mediums and pushing the limits within a classically taught style is what makes SAGE unique from other art programs- teaching art will always mean expanding minds and hearts as well as training eyes and hands. Having FUN with a positive attitude is all you need!

Kim Furrh, the owner, is a multimedia artist who earned her B.S. in Fine Arts from Skidmore College and studied at Rhode Island School of Design and The Art Students League.
Her work has been exhibited at national venues in SoHo, Brooklyn, Tahoe and Seattle. Kim served as Director of The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, a non-for-profit arts organization in Red Hook, Brooklyn, promoting emerging artists in and around Brooklyn and NYC.
She was a visual art instructor for children, teens and adults in both public and private schools in Seattle.

Kim teaches each class with an exciting, hands-on and nurturing approach which will keep your budding artist coming back for MORE! Whether it's a 3.5 year old, a 7 year old, a teen or a beginning adult, she reaches each student's level with appropriate knowledge of art elements, techniques and medium skills.
Passionate about ART and teaching kids, Kim brings over 25 years of creative life experience to SAGE Art Academy! She is also an involved mother of two children ages 5 and 12!
