Four days of creative energy and fun-packed experiences that can not be found anywhere else in Southern Colorado ! Students will learn fine ART elements related to their individual camp and Students will learn science aspects, history knowledge and FUN facts relating to the CAMP theme of the week.
SAGE Students enjoy creative time each day working in mediums such as watercolors, acrylics, oil & chalk pastels, gouche, clay and more. Open time is available each day to boost creativity with challenging and fun things such as movement, a giant parachute, balls, drums and other active exercises, plus All Plein Air & Nature Camps will allow students time to enjoy the waters of the Arkansas River if they wish! Students will create several projects each day using a mixture of mediums and will enjoy a mid-day break for lunch.
SAGE students create a broad collection of work each CAMP and they are excited and proud at the end of the week to showcase their efforts in the SAGE CAMP SHOW, an informal exhibition on the final day of camp, (the last 30 min.), for family and friends to celebrate and view the student's collection of work !

PLEIN AIR CAMP (Mon-Thurs 9:30-1:30)
"En plein air" ; is a French expression which means:
"in the open air" ; the act of painting outdoors"
SAGE Students will join professional artist Kim Faiella-Furrh to explore Colorado's beautiful landscapes right outside our backdoors ! Students will paint like master artists Monet or Remington creating " in" the landscape, painting with easels and on 11"x14"canvases. Don't miss out on this CAMP, as it is always an awesome week! This was our MOST popular camp and last summer it filled up right away!

MURAL CAMP ( Mon-Thurs 9:30-1:30 )
This will be the 4th MURAL that SAGE students will have the opportunity to paint . Local acclaimed mural artists, Mike Strescino and Mat Taylor, the artists of the Blue Sky Mural, the BEAR mural on the Central Plaza and the leaders of our zoo mural 2013 and our aquatic mural 2014. Instructors encourage students to render concepts and design a permanent mural. Students will paint the mural in the Mesa Junction neighborhood. We will provide students with knowledge of mural painting and allow them to explore the process of painting a mural on a large scale space. Their ideas will be merged together and they will create one collaborative piece to be enjoyed by ALL who pass by for a very long time.
KIDS LOVE THIS CAMP it is empowering and everlasting.
NATURE CAMP ( Mon-Thurs 9:30-1:30 )
Another beloved SAGE CAMP, students create from natural elements inspired by master artist Andy Goldsworthy. Students will have the opportunity to collect from nature outside at the Nature Center by the trails and river for a day and will also have a choice of collected elements at SAGE; sand, rocks, pods, sticks, shells; we will create several creative works both in 2-D and 3D.
